What is smart film?
Smart film, also called PDLC film or switchable privacy film, is window film that you switch electrically from frosted to clear. It is applied to your existing glass and works via a transformer with Wi-Fi, so you control it with the app.
Can smart film replace my ordinary window film?
If you use window film for privacy, yes. Smart film gives the same privacy as frosted film, but you can also make the window clear again. Smart film is not intended for sun control.
Does smart film black out a room?
No. When frosted, it scatters the light: you can no longer see through, but the room stays light. It protects your privacy without darkening the room.
What does smart film cost compared with ordinary window film?
Ordinary window film is cheaper. Smart film costs €179 per m² excl. VAT, plus a one-time €149.99 for the transformer with Wi-Fi app. You pay for the freedom to switch.
